Pan de Muerto is the sweet bread of Día de Muertos. It is round, often dusted with sugar, with strips of dough on top that read as bones and a knob at the center. Mexican bakeries bake it for that season, not as everyday pan dulce.
At Conchitas in Irving, it is a seasonal question, not a year-round SKU. The usual window is the weeks leading up to Día de Muertos (November 1 and 2). Families from across Dallas–Fort Worth ask the same thing each fall.

What Pan de Muerto is
The loaf is a round sweet bread, usually orange-blossom or anise in the dough, with a sugar crust. The bone-shaped strips and the center knob are the part people recognize from across the case. It is not a generic round bun.
Families eat it in the days around November 1 and 2, and it often sits on an ofrenda with photographs, candles, and other offerings. The bread is food for the living and part of the table for the dead.
